This necklace is both beautiful and loads of fun! In the first 5 minutes after opening the package I came up with at least 20 different ideas for how to use it! It's comfortable, very flexible and makes a bold statement with whatever you are wearing - dressy, casual. It makes a great bracelet too.Remarkably nifty jewelry for such a low price By Catrinka
Even as costume jewelry goes, I'm still amazed at how nice this bendy-snake is for a price that was under $3. Would I still have been as tickled by it if I'd paid the $20 retail price? Probably not...but it would still be a pretty cool accessory.
My favorite use for it is as a scarf holder or bracelet. I really like the look of it as a necklace; but it won't remain laying flat against my neck/throat. Even when you get it in the exact shape and position that you like, the next time you check it, it tends to be sticking out about an inch or so away from your throat. It looks sort of weird when it does that. I've still worn it a couple of times as a necklace; but I feel like I'm constantly having to remember to reach up and flatten it back down.
It has a different look each time -- it all just depends on just how you bend it. While it twists and takes a new abstract form quite easily, it also holds that new shape pretty well. I've never had trouble or needed to spend much time in coming up with a free-form shape that ends up looking like a handcrafted design. Also, just as an FYI, the last photo listed on the product page is actually TWO of this product together. I wanted to point that out so that no one would think that the bendy snake was long enough to loop around your neck twice and have it fall to that level.
There's no clasp or fastener of any type. It simply arrives as a closed 36" loop. I haven't had it long enough to see how well the metallic finish holds up...so far so good now...but will update my review if I'm disappointed.
I bought this first one in silver (it's a fairly shiny silver). I've now ordered it also in pewter and copper and am hoping that the metallic finish on them will be a bit more muted.
