Moonstone is a type of feldspar known as orthoclase, with a monoclinic crystal system. Recovered from mines in Sri-Lanka, Switzerland and Burma, the mineral has "cleavage planes" that produce a silvery bluish-white chatoyancy - an almost cat's eye quality that changes in relation to the light reflected from its surface. · The handcrafted nature of this product will produce minor differences in colors, design and sizing. Since this is handcrafted Natural stone, not molded, the silver decoration holder will not be set on center.

To be honest, I had never seen a moon stone before and, for about $20 bucks, I wasn't expecting much...I love it!!! It came faster then estimated and it really refracts the light beautifully!
