The ring holder is silver plated, including the spike in the center that holds the rings (in the picture it appears as though it might be crystal). It's very shiny and beautiful, and was packaged very carefully, but near the heart engraving, the silver is badly scratched. At first I thought it was either dirty, or had adhesive stuck to it, but when running a fingernail over it, you can feel the scratches. I'm exchanging it. Hopefully the replacement will be better. The scratches show up very obviously due to the shine of the product, and I do also wonder how it will hold up over time, with rings constantly being placed on it/removed.
Just to update: the replacement was perfect. Not sure what happened with the first one, but the second one is fine, and has held up to daily use without any scratching.Love By Liz
