When I ordered this for just shy of $9.50US after shipping, I wasn't expecting anything that great. I ordered it because it's quite unique, and would work great with the engagement ring going inside. I was honestly expecting to just shove it in a drawer or return it, as at this price I wasn't expecting it to be "engagement ring" quality.
However, it's REALLY well built. The hinges feel solid, the wood trim is very well matched, the fake leather wrapping is done smoothly and properly, and both lids align perfectly with both the base and each other when closed! The velvet liner is decently stiff without feeling cheap, and arrived in CO much faster than I was expecting it to get here with USPS.
Definitely recommend.
I would also like to note that the wood feels unfinished aside from a sanded surface, so that if you wanted to mask off the leather and stain it a different color, that should be possible.
