I received an M-Clip as a Best Man's gift for my best friend's wedding. What a gift! Due to an unfortunate manufacturing error, I needed a replacement. I was able to purchase this M-Clip at a remarkably reasonable price ($176.99)--at least, reasonable relative to alternative pricing options. Since I only needed to pay the difference between my original clip and this option, it was a no-brainer.
Pros:
1. Simply the best money clip you'll find out there in terms of construction and quality. Although my first M-Clip had a manufacturing error, I don't believe this is a common occurrence among their products. I am still very pleased with M-Clip. The weight is very nice; it's not heavy, but it's got enough weight to let you know you've got a quality product.
2. It's an uncommon choice. In a sea of options, from holding your money in a wallet to wrapping it with a broccoli rubber band, not many people use M-Clips. I suspect it's the somewhat prohibitively high price. Sure, it might be a thief magnet, but it's also a nice way to distinguish yourself from everyone else.
Cons:
1. Of course, your M-Clip abalone inlay will vary in pattern greatly compared to the one pictured. Also, the abalone inlay may be cut from several different pieces. Mine has one absolutely beautiful side, but the other side has very visible variances (one part silver, one two parts bluish green, one part pink). The one in the picture was probably the best they've ever made, so don't assume yours will arrive that way.
Summary:
This money clip is absolutely great if you can afford it. One measurement of whether you can truly afford it or not: does the price matter? If my situation were different, I would not have purchased this clip (and opted for a more budget-friendly M-Clip). Don't be foolish by spending your money on something to hold your money (and you won't have much left if you can't afford it).
